 Sydni and I chose to do a Converse commercial. These commercials typically consist of people doing different activities in Converse sneakers.

·     Costumes can range anywhere from athletic wear to casual comfy clothing (as Converse have many different purposes).

·     Props include converse products primarily their sneakers. 

·     The appearance is usually comfort and everyday wear. 

·     The score throughout the commercial is typically upbeat, uplifting and motivating.

  1.   Conventions and codes in Converse commercials include the converse logo and slogan “shoes are boring, wear sneakers”. The meaning behind this slogan falls from the previous slogan “shoes keep it clean sneakers get dirty”. 

  2.   In Converse commercials, the props are always focused on the Converse logo, typically located on the shoes. This is to advertise the brand to the audience.  

  3.  The commercials typically use ethos- since Converse is such a big brand they will use different celebrities in their commercials to make people want their product more.

  My group for the music video is me, Kaya, Ben, and Addison. I have been friends with them for a very long time and I think they are great people to do this project with. We all usually have similar ideas. Our personalities go well together and do not clash. I chose them for this project because I know I can count on them to do their share of the work.   Part 1-  The main takeaway of the video is what goes into making a good film.  Editing and filming are required for the audience to understand the story.  The video talks about how the film was made and how it was meant to show what is happening.  Editing is important in movies in general.  The pictures put in allow for a clean effect for shots.  The shots and reverses allow us to feel the film.  Long shots allow the audience to better see the film.  The audience was given more time to study the pictures.  The images are each their own story. - How can we better represent situations and emotions in our film?  This film goes back in time in a straightforward manner for the audience to understand everything.  Audio can also be used to enhance the video.    Conventions in Thriller films Genre Research: Thriller Close-up- may be used when your attention is intentionally directed to the character’s face and at times what is behind them. Extreme close-up- used as a powerful way to convey the emotion that the subject is feeling. They are used in thrillers to allow the audience to get a clear understanding of the emotions the character is going through. Used mostly to convey fear, pain, and sadness in thrillers. Low angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes. High Angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes. Costumes are more often than not very simple and plain. Muted colors are usually used to not take away from what is actually happening in the movie.
