Creative Critical Reflection

How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

My product can be used in many different ways and I represent that in my commercial. My product can be used by all different types of social groups as it is versatile to every situation.

How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My product engages with audiences by showing how everyone can use it and it is conveyed in a positive, uplifting way that grabs the attention of the audience. I did this by showing how versatile the shoes are so the audience can relate. I added uplifting, well-known music that matched the theme and so the audience could feel familiar.

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

My production skills developed immensely. I learned that scenes do not come out perfect the first time and sometimes you have to do more than 10 different takes. I also learned to be open to ideas when you have to make decisions on the fly. I also learned more about editing than I thought I would, which is good because I already know a lot about it. I am glad I learned a lot during this project so I can make the next one even better.

How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

For this project the technology I used included an iPhone and a Mac laptop. For editing I used iMovie on my Mac and YouTube. These technologies and softwares made it smooth while making this commercial because I was familiar with it so there were not hiccups while trying to learn how to do things.
