Creating the masterpiece

 Today, I edited the music video. I needed to figure out whether I should use iMovie like the commercial project, or a different editing software. I looked for good, free platforms. I found some good ones. In the end, I ended up just using iMovie because that is what I am most familiar with. iMovie is good because it doesn't leave a watermark or make you pay. First, I needed all the clips so I could piece them together. Since they were taken on Kaya's phone, I asked her to send them to me. She sent them and I saved them to my computer. I decided which clips were going to be used because there was a lot of them. I put them into iMovie. I realized that the video was way too long so I shortened the clips. I also decided to speed some of them up. Then I watched it through to make sure the clips were in order and it looked good. Some of the clips were still out of order. I moved them and continued. It was time for transitions. I added the transition where I zoomed into Ben's head into a black screen and then after the black screen it was the letter writing scene. I also added the "The End" screen after the christmas tree zoom. After I was finished, I downloaded the song "Baby it's Cold Outside" and inserted it into the video. I rewatched it make sure I was happy with it, and I was. I sent it to my group mates and they all loved it too.

  My group for the music video is me, Kaya, Ben, and Addison. I have been friends with them for a very long time and I think they are great people to do this project with. We all usually have similar ideas. Our personalities go well together and do not clash. I chose them for this project because I know I can count on them to do their share of the work. They are very creative and can help with the brainstorming aspect of the project. Ben actually makes music so he could help us determine what we should put in the video.   Part 1-  The main takeaway of the video is what goes into making a good film.  Editing and filming are required for the audience to understand the story.  The video talks about how the film was made and how it was meant to show what is happening.  Editing is important in movies in general.  The pictures put in allow for a clean effect for shots.  The shots and reverses allow us to feel the film.  Long shots allow the audience to better see the film.  The audience was given more time to study the pictures.  The images are each their own story. - How can we better represent situations and emotions in our film?  This film goes back in time in a straightforward manner for the audience to understand everything.  Audio can also be used to enhance the video.    Conventions in Thriller films Genre Research: Thriller Close-up- may be used when your attention is intentionally directed to the character’s face and at times what is behind them. Extreme close-up- used as a powerful way to convey the emotion that the subject is feeling. They are used in thrillers to allow the audience to get a clear understanding of the emotions the character is going through. Used mostly to convey fear, pain, and sadness in thrillers. Low angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes. High Angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes.
