Partner Blog

 My partner for the commercial is Sydni. I met her in middle school and have been close with her since. I think she is a great person to do this project with. We both always have similar ideas. Our personalities go well together and do not clash. I chose her for this project because I know I can count on her to do her share of the work. She is very creative and can help with the brainstorming aspect of the project. I love being in front and behind the camera and so does she. We always work well together and listen to each other. We communicate ideas well and can agree on things. We avoid arguing and have different skills we can provide to make a good commercial. I enjoy editing, which can help with the commercial. She enjoys drawing which can help with the storyboard for the commercial. I think it was a good idea to choose Sydni for my partner because we are very productive together. I would not have chose her if I did not believe we would not create an awesome commercial together. The reason we both decided to work in a group of two instead of three or four is because other people distract us. We know that we will not get distracted working together because we love collaborating on projects. We know how to keep each other focused on the task at hand. Sydni and I have already begun brainstorming ideas for our commercial. I believe that sydni was the right choice for a partner and I believe our commercial is going to be great, well thought out, and entertaining.

  Part 1-  The main takeaway of the video is what goes into making a good film.  Editing and filming are required for the audience to understand the story.  The video talks about how the film was made and how it was meant to show what is happening.  Editing is important in movies in general.  The pictures put in allow for a clean effect for shots.  The shots and reverses allow us to feel the film.  Long shots allow the audience to better see the film.  The audience was given more time to study the pictures.  The images are each their own story. - How can we better represent situations and emotions in our film?  This film goes back in time in a straightforward manner for the audience to understand everything.  Audio can also be used to enhance the video.    Conventions in Thriller films Genre Research: Thriller Close-up- may be used when your attention is intentionally directed to the character’s face and at times what is behind them. Extreme close-up- used as a powerful way to convey the emotion that the subject is feeling. They are used in thrillers to allow the audience to get a clear understanding of the emotions the character is going through. Used mostly to convey fear, pain, and sadness in thrillers. Low angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes. High Angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes. Costumes are more often than not very simple and plain. Muted colors are usually used to not take away from what is actually happening in the movie.
