Delayed Start

 Sunday, December 5th was the first filming day for our group. I thought the filming should have been done earlier but my group member, Ben, got the COVID 19 virus so it would have been very bad to be around him during those times. The filming was supposed to take place in November. After Ben's quarantine period supposedly ended, he got another test and was still positive, which delayed the filming another week. I wish we could have started earlier on this but it was an unprecedented circumstance for me and the group. The week before filming was supposed to start I hurt my hip playing soccer. This was not good because the filming was going to take place on ice. At first when I was injured, I was sure I was not going to be able to partake in the ice aspect of the video. A couple days later, I realized that I might be able to participate. When the day before filming came around, I made a decision. I decided that I would go out on the ice and be the camera woman and film my group mates. I decided this because I still had pain so I could not skate well enough to be in the clips. I thought being the camera woman would be good because I could still be there and be part of the process. I was happy that this was going to work out.
My group mates and I all texted the night before and figured out what the attire was and what each person was bringing. I decided I was going to wear blue jeans, a sweater with a reindeer on it, with a flannel on top. Addison decided she was going to bring a santa hat. The problem that arose was what the group was going to film the videos on. Collectively, the decision was Kaya's phone because she has the best camera and the most storage. I was ready to start filming finally, and I think my group mates were as ready as I was.

  My group for the music video is me, Kaya, Ben, and Addison. I have been friends with them for a very long time and I think they are great people to do this project with. We all usually have similar ideas. Our personalities go well together and do not clash. I chose them for this project because I know I can count on them to do their share of the work.   Part 1-  The main takeaway of the video is what goes into making a good film.  Editing and filming are required for the audience to understand the story.  The video talks about how the film was made and how it was meant to show what is happening.  Editing is important in movies in general.  The pictures put in allow for a clean effect for shots.  The shots and reverses allow us to feel the film.  Long shots allow the audience to better see the film.  The audience was given more time to study the pictures.  The images are each their own story. - How can we better represent situations and emotions in our film?  This film goes back in time in a straightforward manner for the audience to understand everything.  Audio can also be used to enhance the video.    Conventions in Thriller films Genre Research: Thriller Close-up- may be used when your attention is intentionally directed to the character’s face and at times what is behind them. Extreme close-up- used as a powerful way to convey the emotion that the subject is feeling. They are used in thrillers to allow the audience to get a clear understanding of the emotions the character is going through. Used mostly to convey fear, pain, and sadness in thrillers. Low angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes. High Angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes.
