Editing Begins

 Today was the first day I started editing. The scenes we filmed were on Kaya's phone. So, I started by having Kaya email them to me. I went on my email and found them. I downloaded the videos to my computer. I went through and watched all the videos again. I did this to make sure Kaya sent me all the right takes. There were a lot of outtakes, so I wanted to make sure she didn't send me one of those by accident. Today, I decided to start with downloading the music we were going to use. The music we chose was royalty free music on YouTube. So, the first thing I had to do was go on YouTube. I searched up the music I needed. I realized that I could not download music onto my computer from YouTube. I needed to find a website where it would allow me to do so. I went on Google and started searching. I found a website fairly quickly. The website allows you to download music as an MP4 file, so I downloaded it to my computer. Now I could start actually editing. I had the music and the video, time to work.

  My group for the music video is me, Kaya, Ben, and Addison. I have been friends with them for a very long time and I think they are great people to do this project with. We all usually have similar ideas. Our personalities go well together and do not clash. I chose them for this project because I know I can count on them to do their share of the work.   Part 1-  The main takeaway of the video is what goes into making a good film.  Editing and filming are required for the audience to understand the story.  The video talks about how the film was made and how it was meant to show what is happening.  Editing is important in movies in general.  The pictures put in allow for a clean effect for shots.  The shots and reverses allow us to feel the film.  Long shots allow the audience to better see the film.  The audience was given more time to study the pictures.  The images are each their own story. - How can we better represent situations and emotions in our film?  This film goes back in time in a straightforward manner for the audience to understand everything.  Audio can also be used to enhance the video.    Conventions in Thriller films Genre Research: Thriller Close-up- may be used when your attention is intentionally directed to the character’s face and at times what is behind them. Extreme close-up- used as a powerful way to convey the emotion that the subject is feeling. They are used in thrillers to allow the audience to get a clear understanding of the emotions the character is going through. Used mostly to convey fear, pain, and sadness in thrillers. Low angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes. High Angle- to show the power struggles of characters throughout intense scenes.
